DESCRIPTIONThis beautiful antique bible has a leather cover with gold guilding. The cover page is missing, the first page is Genesis Chapter 1. In gold on the binding is written International TEACHERS The Christian Herald. This has the old and new testament along with a Bible Readers Manual or Aids To Biblical Study edited by Rev. Charles H. Wright. Also included in the Proper Names of the bible, a glossary of obscure English words, Biblical Antiquities and Customs, an Index of Texts For Christian Workers, an Index, and concordance, including maps by Major Conder. Since the cover page is missing I can not be for certain of the age, the publishers listed are London and Glasgow: William Collins, Sons and Company, Limited. New York: International Bible Agency. The condition of this bible is very frail, the leather binding is very soft, with a great deal of tattering on the front cover mainly. The cover is coming loose but most of the pages are still intact and bound. The front and back page are lose. This would not be an item for use, display use only and the enjoyment of the relic. I purchased this MANY years ago at a antique auction and have had this is a display case for preservation. I can not be sure of the age but I am guessing this is from the early 1900s possibly older, The Christian Herald dates back to 1878. I am no expert on antiquities, just a guess according to the style, publishers, and condition. Please contact me with any questions.
